Happy New Year everyone! If you are looking to make a resolution this year that will help animals, the planet AND yourself, you've come to the right place! Below I have listed 3 resolutions that are easy to stick to with a little compassion. 💖
1. Go cruelty-free!
It's 2017 - there is absolutely no reason we need to be supporting this, when we have the option not to. To see the Beauty Without Bunnies official lists of brands that do and do not test on animals, click the images below, print them out and shop! Easy as that!
2. GO DAIRY-FREE!
I've said it before and I'll say it again - dairy is bad news on both health and ethical platforms. The following are some of the quotes I've collected from various organizations and medical professionals explaining the health factors of consuming dairy:
As for ethical problems raised, I'm just going to leave this video here...
For my reasons why I went dairy-free, as well as in-depth desctiptions about the types of dairy-free milk, check out my article All About Vegan Milk.
When people find out I'm vegan I often get questions and comments such as "But I could NEVER live without ice cream!" Well, good news! There are SO MANY dairy-free ice cream and dessert options out there that you don't have to! I recommend So Delicious but there's also Tofutti, Soy Dream, Rice Dream, Almond Dream, Coconut Bliss, even Ben & Jerry's makes non-dairy flavours! If you're looking to go out for a scoop, you can get sorbet at TCBY, Tutti Frutti, Pink Berry, etc. And the dairy-free options don't just stop at ice cream - there's something for everything and everyone!
3. STOP WEARING ANIMAL FURS AND SKINS!
I have a Vegan Fashion Guide coming soon that will explain all about how animals are harmed in the process of creating various garments, but until then check out this cruelty-free fabric guide. Start by donating the clothes you have now, then shop accordingly.
That's it for this one, hope you all had a lovely end to 2016 and are ready for another year of positive changes! Remember - "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."
